St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lafayette Hill, held a special historical and educational event earlier on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 where our fife and drum corps performed

St. Peter’s, in conjunction with the American Friends of Lafayette, commemorated the battle of Barren Hill, which was centered around St. Peter’s original church building. There was a historical presentation on Lafayette by John Shiffert. Afterwards the Philly Fife and Drum Company performed and prepare visitors for self-guided tours of the church graveyard. The key part of the Battle of Barren Hill, the church graveyard contains the graves of 14 members of the Continental army, as well as being the last resting place of six Oneida scouts who fought alongside the colonials in 1778.
