SUMMARY:Easton Heritage Day
DESCRIPTION:With over 5\,000 attendees\, Heritage Day brings the community together through reenactment events\, activities for kids\, live music\, food\, vendors and fireworks. Easton is one of only three towns where the Declaration of Independence was read on July 8\, 1776. The Philly Fife and Drum company started day’s event processing from Easton’s Farmers Market at Scott Park to the Historic Center Square circle at 9:00 AM and met with some British troops on our way.

DESCRIPTION:We are proud to be on the ground floor of both the planning and the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation.\n\n\n\nAfter we helped kick-off the Philadelphia leg of the 200th anniversary of General Lafayette’s return tour to America in Lafayette Hill\, the corps traveled to Carpenter’s Hall in Old City to perform for America250PA National Convening of States and Partners.\n\n\nIt is now the 250th anniversary of the 1st Continental Congress which met in Carpenter’s Hall in September and October of 1774. This signified the beginnings of the American Revolution as it was the first time the colonies joined together to stand a common ground against Britain’s tyranny.

DESCRIPTION:In honor of the 200th anniversary of the return to America by the Marquis de Lafayette\, St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church\, 3025 Church Rd.\, Lafayette Hill\, will be holding a special historical and educational event. \nForty-six years after the May 1778 battle of Barren Hill\, which was centered around St. Peter’s original church building\, Lafayette made a triumphant return to the U.S. as an elder French statesman. St. Peter’s\, in conjunction with the American Friends of Lafayette\, will be commemorating his return to Philadelphia with an historical presentation on Lafayette. Afterwards a performance by the Revolutionary new Philly Fife and Drum Company will prepare visitors for tours of the church graveyard.
